Independence & ownership

VowAsia is owned by Asia Press Centre Group (APCG), a Singapore-headquartered media network. We disclose that ownership here and wherever it is relevant to a story. Ownership does not direct our coverage, and neither do advertisers. Commercial relationships — advertising, sponsorship, events, awards — are handled by a separate commercial team. No advertiser or partner sees editorial content before publication, chooses what we cover, or removes what we have published. Where we report on APCG, its titles or its commercial partners, we say so in the piece.

Accuracy & sourcing

We verify before we publish. Venue capacities, package details and prices are attributed to their source and dated, and we remind readers to reconfirm with the venue before booking, because prices change. Legal information about marriage requirements is stated only as its source states it, and no article is a substitute for confirmation with the relevant authorities. Trend claims are grounded in real weddings and named sources, not press releases.

Real weddings: consent & credits

We publish a real wedding only with the couple’s permission and the photographer’s license to use the images. Every wedding feature credits the full creative team — photographer, planner, venue, gown, beauty, flowers and more — because that is both fair and useful. Couples may ask us to withhold surnames or locations, and we respect reasonable requests for privacy after publication. We publish a minority of what we receive; that selectiveness is what makes a VowAsia feature worth having.

Taste & privacy

Weddings are private occasions that become public only by invitation. We do not publish speculation about relationships, engagements, breakups or private lives, and we cover society weddings through their public facts — the venue, the scale, the craft — not through gossip. A story that cannot be told with taste and permission is a story we do not tell.

Corrections

We correct errors quickly and visibly. Material errors are corrected in the article itself, with a note stating what changed and when. Minor typographical fixes that do not alter meaning are made without annotation. We do not quietly delete mistakes. If you believe we have published an error, write to editorial@vowasia.com with a link to the article. Corrections are reviewed by an editor and take priority over other correspondence.

Clear labeling of commercial content

Three labels mark commercial content on this site, and their meanings are fixed. “Sponsored” is content paid for by an advertiser and produced to the advertiser’s brief, approved by them before publication. “Partner Content” is produced by our studio with, and paid for by, a commercial partner: the partner has input, our team writes and produces it to our standards. “Press Release” is an announcement supplied by an organization and published in full, without editorial rewriting, in the Press Room only.

These labels appear on the article page and wherever the piece is promoted on our site. Commercial content never appears in editorial streams unlabeled. Inclusion in editorial coverage is never for sale: no payment, at any price, buys a place in a real-weddings feature, a venue guide, a price guide or an award result.

How our briefs are produced

Much of our news coverage — the briefs in Venues, Destination Weddings, Style, Planning and The Wedding Business — is drafted by AI from a named source, then put through an automated editorial review before it reaches you. That review is not a formality. Each draft is scored against this masthead’s standards, checked for whether every fact is supported by the source it cites, and held back when it is not. Drafts that fall short are rewritten once and re-examined; those that still fall short are never published.

We are telling you this plainly because the alternative — implying a newsroom of reporters where there is a pipeline — would be the first thing we got wrong. Real-wedding features and anything carrying an individual’s byline are written by people. Everything else carries the VowAsia Editors byline, and that byline means exactly what is described here. Wedding photography on this site is real photography of real events; we do not present AI-generated images as photographs.

Bylines & authorship

Editorial work made by a person carries that person’s byline. Short collective briefs carry “VowAsia Editors”; a named editor remains responsible for each one. Bylines are never attached to commercial content — Sponsored and Partner Content pieces are credited to the studio or the partner, not to our journalists.
